Mary Ella Penner (nee Fowler) passed away at the Extended Care Unit of Chilliwack Hospital on Aug. 23, 2003. She was born Feb. 29, 1912 (Leap Year) at Eburne, BC, the eldest child of Rhonda and Joseph Fowler. Ella was a long-time resident of Chilliwack, coming to the valley in 1916. She is predeceased by her husband Henry; sister, Dorothy; and brother, Norman. Survived by sister, Josephine; three nieces, one grand-niece, and four grand-nephews, as well as Henry’s five children. Henderson’s Funeral Home in charge of cremation. No service by request. The family acknowledges with heartfelt thanks, the loving care and support of the staff of the Extended Care uNit and friends who helped bring cheer to her last years.
