It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Martin fought short, but brutal battle with cancer.
Born in Chilliwack, he lived his entire life here. An athletic and good student, he completed Grade 13 (first year university) at Chilliwack Sr. High.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine of 45 years; daughter: Shelley (Randall) Hayes, their children Steven, twins Shawna and Shannon; and son, Brad (Sandra Hoffman), and their children Allison and Logan.
Martin was a kind, loving and very private person. His family, he always said, was his greatest accomplishment in life and his reason for living.
One of a dying breed, he was never content to sit idle and spent hours in his shop constructing, designing, rebuilding and repairing.
If someone told him it couldn’t be done – he would prove them wrong.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave, Chilliwack. (Dress casual – jeans would be perfect.) No flowers by request.
