Born in Melville Sask, October 11, 1913. Passed away peacefully on Jan 25, 2008 at Cottage Pavilion, MSA hospital, Abbotsford at age 94. Predeceased by husband John Godfrey Montie and eldest son Darwin. Survived by children Ron (Jenny), Marion (Ken) Botten, John W. (Pam), Ken (Pam), 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, a sister Maria Pachal, and brother, Herb (Martha) Unterschute.

She was a seamstress in Melville before her marriage to John in 1935. They moved to Chilliwack in 1945. Martha loved to cook (she has a cook book published with many of her favorite recipes.) Her hobbies led her to become an associate member of the Art Society of UBC after teaching pottery at night school. Martha always did baking and crafts to perfection.

She learned to drive a car in her 50’s and continued driving until her late 80’s. She was kind and always giving – family and visitors were always welcome any time day or night and she always shared everything she had. Her family always came first and her sense of humor was contagious, always laughing and giggling especially when trying to tell a joke.

The family wishes a heartfelt thank you to Cottage Pavilion for the last two years of care and support.

Goodbye Mom, Martha, Grandma, great Grandma, great, great Grandma, sister, aunt, friend.
