Marleen Anne DEMARE

March 26, 2004

“Some say the good die young’’

Marlene Anne Demare was born April 7, 1950, and was taken from us, sadly, on March 26, 2004, after a long battle with arthritis, and a very short and shocking diagnosis of cancer.

She will be remembered happily by her family and friends as a compassionate, giving, caring, loving, selfless, friendly, tireless, strong woman with a contagious laugh, wonderful sense of humour, big warm cuddly hugs, pep talks of wisdom, and love for her pets. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends, watching curling and cooking shows, listening and dancing to country music, and being at home.

She also found fulfillment in doing for others, and will be remembered fondly in the community for her time and work as a volunteer.

Marleen is survived by the love of her life, her husband Dennis, and their three children, her first son Darryll (Lisa); her daughter Kimberlee (Jason), her grandsons, ‘the apples of her eye’, Bradlee (punkin) and Nicholas (muffin); and her baby Lance (Laurie). She is also survived by her brothers, Bryon (Shelly), Percey (Vicky), and Tim (Donna); and her nieces and nephews, all from Manitoba.

She is predeceased by her parents, Edna Mae and Robert Bellow, in the summer of 2003.

A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, Mar. 31, 2003 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack, with Major Angus Haggarty officiating. A reception will follow at the Masonic Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the Arthritis Society, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
