Marion Buchanan, beloved wife, mother and grandmother died August 19, 2006 at Chilliwack, BC.
Marion is lovingly remembered by her husband Don; children Lynne (Lorne), Lesley, Neil (Pat), Maureen (Bob), and Alana (Rod), eight grandchildren, Tara (Lance), Erin (Steve), Carie (Darren), Rachelle (Tyler), Darrell (Jen), Shanda (Kiriako), Lauren and Jana; five great grandchildren; and brother Les (Lorraine) and nieces and nephews.
Marion was born March 10, 1924 in Salvador, Saskatchewan, youngest child of Earle and Gleetis Walker. She was a Registered Nurse, graduating from Saskatoon City Hospital in 1946. She pursued her career in a number of communities in Saskatchewan and maintained close bonds with classmates of her graduating class, enjoying frequent reunions with them for more than fifty years.
Marion met and married Don in 1949 and they shared a loving union that lasted 57 years. They worked, played and travelled together, as well as raising their children on the family farm at Francis. Marion and Don retired to Chilliwack in 1978 and made their home in California in the winters.
Marion was a courageous and generous woman who shared her gift of love with family and community. She had an independent spirit, an inquiring mind and a keen appreciation for nature.
A private memorial service will be held in Chilliwack on August 24, 2006 when her family will celebrate her life with their cherished memories.
