Marie Moore DRAPE

Marie passed away peacefully at Cascade Lodge January 13, 2006 at the age of 92 years. Born in Brussels Belgium April 25, 1913.

When Marie was 2 years of age, she became separated from her mother while they were fleeing Belgium during World War I. Marie was found by a convent sister and was kept at the convent the duration of the war. Miraculously Marie’s parents were found in Edmonton, Alberta in 1922 and Marie joined them there. After completing school in Edson Alberta, Marie became a nurse and served aboard the HMCS Strathcona and also in Britain during the Second World War. Returning to Canada after the war, Marie worked at the St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC and then worked for the Federal Government in Health Services.

Upon retiring, Marie moved to Chilliwack, where she pursued her passion for travel and the caring of all her pets.

Marie is predeceased by her parents, and leaves behind many relatives and friends and will be sadly missed by the Murphy family.

A funeral service will be help at St. Mary’s Church in Chilliwack BC on Wednesday, January 18th, 2006 at 10:00am.

The family would like to thank Cascade Lodge for caring and compassion in all her times of need.
