Marie Ann HUSSACK (nee Steciuk)

February 1, 2003

Marie Ann Hussack (nee Steciuk) suddenly and peacefully left her home in Chilliwack, and entered into the home of her Lord Jesus on February 1, 2003. Marie was born October 15, 1919 in Endeavour, Sask.

Marie was predeceased by her husband John, on January 10, 1958. She was predeceased in 1976 by George, her longtime companion and friend.

Being with family and visiting family brought great joy to her life. She resided in Flin Flon, Man. from 1951 until April 1, 1981 when she moved to Sturgis, Sask.

Marie was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Anna; and brothers, John, Mike, Fred, Bill, and Steve.

In February 1988 she arranged her move to British Columbia to be near her immediate family members. Mom loved her home and found it peaceful and relaxing and enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and the changing seasons. Mom gave so much and asked so little in return.

She was a dedicated mother to Lorne (Faye) of Chilliwack, Merv (Yvette) of White Rock, and Eugene of 100 Mile House. Mom will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her immediate family.

If ever there was a caring heart, it was hers. Mom’s prayers and her strong faith embraced her immediate family and all who she met.

Grandma had devoted a special place in her heart and prayers for her grandsons, Devon of Chilliwack, Brad (Amanda) of Calgary, Alta., Matt of Vancouver, and Curt (Vanessa) of Penticton; and granddaughters, Shelley (Tim) of Vancouver, and Nonie of Calgary, Alta. Grandma will be lovingly remembered and missed. She had a special place in her heart for all her great-grandchildren, she loved them all.

Marie will be fondly remembered by sisters, Pauline of Yorkton, Sask, and Stella of Roblin; and brother Alec (Doreen) of Roblin; sisters-in-law, Tini of Canora, Annie of Sturgis, Caroline of Preeceville, and Verna of Preeceville; many cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Marie will be sorrowfully missed by all her extended Villa family; her Bible reading partner Evelyn; and her tea-totling and prayers partner Margit (Pat); numerous friends and home support staff; family physician Dr. D. Fitzpatrick and her immediate family.

Even though Marie’s lobby chair will sit empty, her warmness and kindness will be remembered. Her inspiration will be irreplaceably missed by all who knew her, as will her compassion and kindness, which she gave throughout her life. She enjoyed home Bible studies and praying for and with her family and friends. She was proud of her independence and her strong faith in her Lord Jesus. She had strong Catholic roots and lived a very Christian lifestyle.

Mass of Christian Remembrance was at 1 p.m., February 12, 2003 at the Holy Spirit Ukranian Catholic Church by Father Miroslav Cryviac and scriptures and eulogy by Garden Villa Pastor Stan Smith. Angelic choir by SSMI Sister Ruth Aney and Sister Ambrose Stachiw. Cremation followed at Valley View Crematorium. There was a beautiful aftermass tea, coffee and luncheon in her honour in the Family Room of the Garden Villa at 9155 Garden Dr., Chilliwack.

With a saddened heart, it hurts to say, “We will miss you.’’
