Margery VICKERSON

March 31, 2007

Margery Vickerson, late of Chilliwack, passed away peacefully, March 31, 2007 in Chilliwack General Hospital at age 83. She was born January 15, 1924 in Rouleau Saskatchewan and moved to Chilliwack at the age of 7. In 1945, she met Donald Vickerson at the Cultus Lake roller rink. They were married the following year. Margery worked as a dental assistant before starting a family and later worked with Donald in a family business, the Chilliwack Sports Shop and more recently with her daughter Gayle at Rainbow Country Travel & Tours. She was a member of the Chilliwack Hospital Auxiliary and the United Church for many years. Margery was an avid bridge player with long time friends.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her immediate and extended families, many friends, and neighbours.

Margery loved her children, grand children, great-grand children and family. She was a well loved and honorary grandma to many extended family members especially Justice. She enjoyed family gatherings, picnics at Cultus Lake, gardening, travelling, reading, shopping outings, and lunch with friends, listening to music, going to concerts, her bridge groups, close friends and neighbours.

She was predeceased by her husband Donald, parents Earle and Bessie Rumble, brother Graham Rumble, sister-in-law Dorothy, sister Dorothy and brother-in-law Ferguson Webster, brother-in-law Richard (Dick) Vickerson and sister-in law Adele.

Margery is survived by her son Jim Vickerson, daughter-in-law Judith, daughter Gayle Vickerson, grandchildren Shane, Daisy (& Devin) and Wes; great-grandchildren Brayden, Kira and Kolby; brother-in-law Raymond Vickerson and sister-in-law Viola, sister-in-law Patricia Warne & brother-in-law Fred, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life for Margery will be held on Saturday, April 7th at 2:00 PM at Sardis Community Church, 45625 South Sumas Road, Chilliwack, B.C.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Canadian Diabetic Society would be appreciated.
