Marg Bourne, late of Chilliwack, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008. Marg was born in Portland, Oregon on January 9, 1932.

Marg is survived by her daughters, Chris (Dennis) and Sheena (Jeff); and grandchildren; Sean, Kelsey, Joel, Alex and Haylie, as well as her sister-in-law Rose and her great and dear friends, Bev, Helen, Darlene and Margaret.

She was predeceased by her husband, Kel, in 2001.

Marg grew up in Point Grey, Vancouver, where she graduated from Lord Bing High School and Vancouver Business School.

Marg and Kel married in 1952 and resided in various Canadian Forces stations until they arrived at CFB Chilliwack in 1959. Once in Chilliwack Marg worked at 11 Works and then at Mount Thurston Prison Camp.

During this time she helped Kel clear 10 acres of then wilderness property every weekend so they could build their dream home on the river, where they lived and raised their family.

While Dad’s hobby was building planes in the garage, Mom’s was raising her garden, her pups, and the ducklings and chicks. Mom loved her river, and her joy was sitting on the deck hearing it flow by. She will be missed by all, including her devoted dog and cat, and of course her many visiting birds, squirrels and rabbits.

Thank you to all the nurses in the ICU and Unit 3 for their care of Mom (and us). No service by request.
