Malcolm McKellar died in Chilliwack General Hospital following a brief illness.

Mal, as his friends knew him, was born in Chilliwack, but grew up in Burnaby.

He served in the Army during the Second World War, and worked as a marine engineer on coastal tugboats for most of his career.

He was delighted to be a great-grandfather to Malcolm, Hope and Trent.

A family memorial gathering will be held in December.
