Lydia Mueller went to be with the Lord, on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010 at Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 85 years.

She was born in Kazun, Poland in 1925 and emigrated to Canada with her family in 1927. She moved to Yarrow, BC in 1947.

Lydia met Edward Mueller in 1951 and they were married in 1952, moving to Port Alberni later that year.

For many years she served the Lord in her local church as a pianist, organist, children’s choir director and Sunday School teacher. Following Ed’s retirement, Lydia and Ed moved to Chilliwack in January 1983. Lydia’s strong faith and gift of hospitality were an inspiration to all and her warm and loving smile will always be remembered.

Lydia is survived by her husband Edward, brother, Henry (Minnie) Kliever; her daughters, Edith (Ed) Wall and Anne (James) O’Hara; grandchildren, Ryan (Taverlee) Wall, Aaron (Dawn) O’Hara and Nathan (Kristie) O’Hara; and nine great-grandchildren. She was sadly predeceased by an infant brother, Rudolph, brother, Frank and sisters, Frieda and Margaret.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010 at 7:00 pm at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010 at 3:00 pm at the Chilliwack Alliance Church, 8700 Young Rd. Chilliwack. Rev. Elmer Martin officiating.
