Lorna Pagett passed away peace­fully on Feb. 18, 2009 at Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 95. Lorna was born on July 22, 1913 in Chilliwack BC.

In her younger years Lorna enjoyed spending her time kicking up her heels at local dances. She loved to crochet for her family and she loved fishing down at the Vedder River.

Recently Lorna celebrated her 95th birthday surrounded by her loving friends and family.

Lorna is survived by her

daughter Lorraine Beger (Eric) and son Bud Nielsen (Paulette); grandaughter, Lynn Kroetch; grandson’s, Rick Beger (Maretta), Jeff (Debby) Nielsen, Phillip (Mellissa) Nielsen; great-grandchildren: Justin, Jordan, Jared Beger, and Ashley Nielsen; and many nieces and nephews.

Lorna was predeceased by her father Edward. C. Jackman; mother Jessie. E. Preston; brothers: Albert Walmsley, Clarence Jackman, Bill Jackman; sisters: Gertie Jinkerson, Mildred Aird, Ida Jones. Also predeceased by her grandfather Thomas Jackman who home­­stead­ed on the corner of Upper Prairie and Patterson Roads in 1888 and uncle William Thomas Jackman who founded the Chilliwack Progress in 1891.

Family will hold Graveside Service and Memorial Tea at a later date. Lorna will be lovingly missed by all her friends and family.

The family would like to thank Dr. W. Sawer and Dr. Enyvari for giving us an extra 10 years with her. Also a thank you to Dr. Paleta for his kind care, all the nursing staff in the emergency and floor 4 and 5, the ambulance drivers – you all treated her with tender care. Her many friends who helped her at Lynnwood and staff at her new home, Cascade Lodge – you made her feel right at home.
