(nee Shingler)

A beloved mother and grandmother, a loyal wife, a good sister and friend...

The family of Linda Elaine Binette (nee Shingler)are heartbroken over the loss of their beloved “Mama” who left us suddenly on Friday, March 20, 2009, at the age of 56 years. Linda was born on Friday, March 13,1953 at the Chilliwack General Hospital. She was the second of nine children to Vic and June Shingler and was a Columbia Valley girl in her heart.

Our mom defined the word “compassion”. She was always there for anyone in need and provided exactly what was called for, an encouraging word, a heartfelt hug, a hot meal, a bed to sleep in. Our mom did NOT believe in lost causes and could always find the good in anyone. She was a forgiving, affectionate and beautiful soul who loved those around her fiercely, especially her husband, Denis.

We’ll miss you mom and while you knew we loved you with all our hearts, we just wish we could tell you one last time how much you truly meant to your family, especially your husband, children and grandchildren. You were our Champion and our role model and we couldn’t have asked for a better Wife and Mommy. Your magic kisses on our owies, your bedtime stories, your heartfelt hugs, your words of wisdom and your unconditional love are all things that will forever remain in our hearts.

Mom will be sorely missed by her husband Denis; her daughters: Shari (Gord), Brenda, Laura and Roxanne (Kelly); her sons: Jason (Shawna), Dennis Jr. (Sheri); her grandchildren: Noah, Alora, Natasha, Austin, Joshua, Brook, Dylan, Katherine, Megan, TJ, Braeden, Aleesha, Lucas, Ashley, and Devon, as well as eight brothers and sisters and many, many nieces and nephews.

Mom was predeceased by her Dad (grandpa) Vic and her true soul mate and best friend June, her loving mother.

We love and miss you mommy. We pray that someday we will see you again.

A Graveside Service is to be held on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Carman United Cemetery. There will be an Open House immediately following the service for anyone who wishes to share a tale or two about Linda at her son, Jason’s, house.

Mother

To one who bears the sweetest name,

And adds luster to the same,

Long life to her, for there’s no other,

Who takes the place of my Dear Mother.
