Lilly Robena GODDARD

January 15, 2005

Lilly Robena Goddard (nee Thompson) passed away peacefully on January 15th, 2005 just two days shy of her 86th birthday. She was the only child of Joe and Margaret (Aldrich) Thompson. She was born and raised on their homestead at Consort, Alberta. She was very proud of her lineage and was a fifth generation Canadian.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ralph, her children; Ted, Peggy (Bob) and Lee (Gerry); four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She always welcomed everyone into the family home that she and Ralph built and lived in for 53 years on Storey Ave, Sardis. Besides entertaining family and friends, she enjoyed playing the piano, gardening and dancing. As Dad remembers “She was a damn good cook and made great bread, buns and pies”. I think none of us will ever forget her wonderful hospitality!

A special thanks to the staff of McIntosh Lodge who cared for her these last few months. The family would also like to thank Dr. Struwig for the care and attention she has given Mom over the last few years.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at 2:00 pm from Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack. Major Angus Haggarty will officiate. Interment in the Legion Cemetery to follow.
