Letetia Jackson passed away on September 14, 2008 at Abbotsford, BC. She was born and raised Tzeachten First Nation, the 4th eldest of 13 children. Letetia is survived by her family; sons Chris, Fred (Doreena) and daughter, Zelda; grandchildren April, Kelly, Shandra and Tolila; brothers and sisters, Percy (MaryAnn), Muriel (Vern), Violet (Gerald), Madeline (Vern), Simon (Kathy), Amelia, Lawrence (Jenny), Elly and Lori (Dave); numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Chris Jackson Sr.; her parents, Francis and Nellie Roberts; brothers, Ralph, Ambrose and George, and her nephew, Michael Roberts.
Letetia was an important part of the Chawathil Elders Group and traveled all of BC on their behalf. She will be remembered for the fun and joy she brought to everyone. Letetia was a humble, kind and generous person who only had good things to say about others. She was a Canoe Puller with strong traditional values and was helpful to all she knew. She valued the people of her community, Chawathil, for over 40 years.
A funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 19, 2008 from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 8909 Mary Street, Chilliwack, BC. Prayers will be held on Thursday evening at the Tzeachten Hall, 45855 Promontory Rd., Chilliwack. Interment in Chawathil Cemetery, Hope, BC.
