(March 31, 1941 - Nov. 14, 2007)

It is with great love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Leonard Braun at 66 years of age on November 14th, 2007.

Leonard faced the challenge of cancer with the grace and strength he was known for and mercifully, his journey was not prolonged. The caring concern of the medical community from paramedics to nursing staff and doctors was exemplary and our family is grateful.

He spent his last days holding close his family: Joan, his wife of 42 years and his sons, Christopher (Tamikko Gordin) and David (Jennifer Mooney). He is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his granddaughters: Inara, Marikko, Chayla, Shawnie, Jamie, and Davina, who were his joy.

Len enjoyed a 35-year career as an educator in the Chilliwack School District where he served as a teacher, head-teacher, vice-principal, and principal. Len also volunteered his time as a coach and organizer of many athletic programs, both in the school system and the community.

Golf was a pastime and a passion for Len enhanced by the camaraderie of his playing partners throughout the years. Other interests included cooking, music, and conquering the New York Times Crossword on a daily basis.

A celebration of Leonard’s life will be held on December 1st, 2007 at the Thom Creek Ranch clubhouse (5700 Jinkerson Rd.) from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. For those wishing to attend this event, please note that parking is very limited so car-pooling is encouraged.

If you have a memory to share about Len, please email it to lenbraunmemories@gmail.com, and we will post it on a memory board as there will not be an open microphone at this gathering.
