Lawrence Mervin GOULDING

March 30, 2004

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Lawrence Mervin Goulding on Tuesday, Mar. 30, 2004 at Chilliwack Hospital. He was born in Pelly, SK on November 2, 1927.

Lovingly remembered by wife Marie; 4 children, Alvin (Pauline), Freddie (Tamara), Danny (Derwyn), and Brenda (Richard); 5 grandchildren, Mandalynne, Tiffany, Tory, Samantha, and Cherizar; 4 great grandchildren, Anthony, Ethan, Ulrich, and Laurel; and 8 surviving siblings.

The eldest of 12 brothers and sisters, his adventurous spirit led him to the west coast and eventually to the gold fields of the north, where he found gold in his loving wife and family in Whitehorse and Yukon Territory. While in the north, Lawrence mined in Atlin, BC and owned a successful new and used store in Whitehorse. In 1980 he retired to the beautiful city of Chilliwack.

For many years he and his wife Marie were snowbirds, enjoying the sunshine of the Western U.S.

In memory of all the dear flocks of friends, family, and Chilliwack Lions brothers and sisters, there will be a Celebration of Lawrence’s Life on Sunday, Apr. 25, 2004 from 3-6 pm at the Chilliwack Lions Hall, 47130 Hope River. Come and share photos and stories of a much loved man.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
