Lavina CURRIE

Lavina Currie passed away peacefully at Fraser Hope Lodge in Hope on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002 at the age of 89 years.

Lavina was predeceased by her husband Neval; and daughters, June and Betty.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Brian) Adamson of Hope, and Leone (Bill) Garrison of Acampo, CA.; five grandchildren, Brian (Denise) Adamson, Randy (Louise) Adamson, Kevin (Josie) Adamson, all of Abbotsford, Sherry (Roger) Bitz of Acampo, CA., and Doug (Debbie) Jones of Golden; and five great-grandchildren, Bill, Linda, Dylan, Derek, and Kalie.

She lived in Chilliwack from 1979 until 1997 when she moved to Hope to be closer to her daughter. During her time in Chilliwack she was actively involved in the Anavets. She was first vice-president and had put in over 20 years of dedicated service. She loved fishing and gardening as well as interacting with people. She will be long remembered for her wonderful sense of humour.

Lavina spent her final months in the Fraser Hope Lodge and the family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and the palliative care workers who have been such a great and loving help in our time of need.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Home. Interment at Valleyview Cemetery, Surrey. A memorial service will also be held at the Fraser Hope Lodge on September 18, 2002 at 10 a.m.

Should family and friends so desire, at the request of the family, donations in Lavina’s memory may be made to the Fraser Hope Lodge Auxilliary at 1275 - 7th Ave., Hope, B.C. V0X 1L4.
