Kenneth John “Kenny” Kornelsen
October 31, 1961 – February 9, 2017
Losing his battle with leukemia, Ken passed away peacefully on Thursday February 9th at the age of 55. He was predeceased by his father (John) and mother (Hilda), and is survived by his wife and soul mate Cindy, daughters Dawn (David) and Nicole, grandson Hudson, sister (Debbie), nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends.
Gatherings by the fire, clearing his land, and spending time with family and friends made his short life fulfilling. Ken's favourite past time was spending time in his shop, repairing and rebuilding vehicles in his driveway. For those who knew him, his best times were on his Harley with his wife “Dukie”, on the back and close friends by his side. Ken drove truck for 30+ years, most recently with Castle Fuels in Kamloops, BC who were like family in their support through Ken's illness. A heartfelt thank you to all those on the highway who recognized a minute of silence and shared stories in honour of his passing. Special thanks to the BMT Team on the 15th floor at Vancouver General Hospital, who provided incredible care and support for Ken and our entire family.
A private gathering will be planned for family and friends.
Our kind and gentle giant will be deeply missed.
