Kenneth Ashton, a resident of Chilliwack, passed into the presence of his Lord on June 14, 2012 at the age of 94. Since 1994, he lived in the area and was active in his church, Watson Road Bible Chapel.

Ken was born in Lancashire, England in 1917 and moved to Canada with his wife and two children in 1953. Over the years he worked as a sales clerk and as an insurance agent, but his greatest interest was serving the Lord Jesus Christ. Ken directed Bible camps in Howe Sound and the Okanagan. He preached in numerous churches and sat on the board of various Christian ministries.

Ken was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Evelyn, who went to be with the Lord in 2010 and his great grandson, Ryan in 2004. He is survived by his son, Barry (Alice) Ashton of Abbotsford BC and his daughter Joy (Angel) Bongiorno of Hillsboro, Oregon. His seven grandsons – Colin, Craig and Chris Ashton, Andrew, Mark, Brian and Neil Bongiorno – and 19 great grandchildren remember this wonderful man with great fondness.

A burial service will be held on Thursday, June 21 at Vedder View Gardens Cemetery at 9:30 am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave, Chilliwack. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Voice of Christ Media Ministries.
