?Hyndman, Kathryn Diane (Kettle)

Sunrise April 9, 1943 (Exeter, ON) ~ Sunset August 7, 2017

It is with profound sadness that the family of Kay Hyndman (one of the "Kettle" girls), announce her passing peacefully but unexpectedly at home in Chilliwack, BC. Kay was a loving and caring mother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, surrogate grandmother and friend to many. She was predeceased by her parents Eric and Jo Kettle, and brother-in-law Paul Gygax. Kay is survived by her children (Stony Plain, AB), who were her pride and joy, daughter Kari Hyndman (Tom Fitzgerald) and son Greg Hyndman (Courtney McKeown & Ethan). Her brother Fred Kettle (Helen DeJean), sisters Bev Kettle, Mission, Ellen Gygax, Chilliwack and Judy Stewart (Garry), Sault St Marie, ON. And many caring nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, across Canada and the USA. Kay was proud to tell people she lived up north for many years, mostly in Whitehorse, and was a knowledgeable travel guide for all who asked. Kay worked very hard all her life to support herself and her family, and enjoyed retirement immensely. She had moved to Chilliwack approximately 5 years ago to be closer to family. But never really lost her love of the North country. Kay had a love of genealogy which she pursued avidly with a passion, and in between she had her knitting, scrapbooking and homemade greeting cards, she was definitely a threat to Hallmark. And she absolutely loved dog sitting for many of her friends fur babies, especially Corona. Kay is free now of her physical limitations which kept her from living the life she wished, and she is now able to soar unencumbered with her loved ones who went before her. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice or Chilliwack SPCA. A celebration of Kay's life was held at 1:00 pm at Vedder Golden Legion Branch 280, 5661 Vedder Road, on ?Monday August 14, 2017.
