It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, dedicated wife, mother, “Nana” (grandmother and great-grandmother) and friend.
June Lenore Norrish (nee Collins) born June 13, 1924 in Chilliwack, passed away peacefully October 26, 2007 at Chilliwack General Hospital at age 83.
Her parents George and Martha Collins, two brothers and five sisters, and one great granddaughter predeceased her. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Wesley, four daughters Shirley (Alan) Fry, Joyce (Bill) Clough, Judy (Dave) Semmens and Gail (Danny) Hill, eight grandchildren Doug (Jenny) Clough, Dwayne (Shannon) Fry, Karen Fry, Janice (John) Bannerman, Christopher (Krista) Semmens, Dawn (Glenn) Lloyd, Daniel (Keri Ann) Semmens, Katherine Hill, and nineteen great-grandchildren Eric, Dylan, Kiara, Anthony, Jaimie, Krystal, Jared, Reed, Brittany, Jenika, Cyrena, Kelly, Jaya, Peyton, Tristan, William, Ruby, Hannah, and Jack .
June loved her and Wes’s many trips to Mexico throughout the years as she had a special love for the desert.
Her friends and family will miss her infectious smile, her hugs, her many phone calls and her never forgotten birthday wishes.
She was an amazing grand–mother and great-grandmother. Her caring words and ways always made each and every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren feel “special”. She always had a hand to hold or a hug to give, and always remembered to say “love to you!” She will be greatly missed!
A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 30 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Hocking Avenue, Chilliwack.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Melanie Madill and the nursing staff on the 5th Floor at Chilliwack General Hospital. If desired, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in June’s memory.
