Joyce Winifred Furness, late of Chilliwack passed away on August 13, 2012. She was born in Winnipeg, MB on August 1, 1927. Mom was predeceased by her husband Stanley N. Furness, her parents, William John and Winifred Ragless and her only sibling, sister, Betty Ruth Carrier of Winnipeg, MB, as well as her niece, Dr Christina Campbell of Winnipeg, MB
Joyce was very active with both, the Choir and Guild of All Sappers Chapel, CFB Chilliwack and an active life member of Branch 280 RCL, Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a Girl Guide Leader in Vedder Crossing from 1960 to 1968.
Joyce is survived by her children, Joanne Boughner (Michael R,) Chilliwack; Pamela Joyce Furness of Vernon, BC; Debra Lopatriello, Kitscoty, AB and son William (Bill) Furness of Chilliwack. Grandchildren Kimberly MacLeod (Gene) St Albert, AB; Michael J Boughner (Jamie); Bobbi Lynn Lopatriello, ( Danny) Edmonton AB; James N. Lopatriello, Red Deer AB and their father Nick Lopatriello of Edmonton; Great-grandchildren Melissa, Nathan and Shawn MacLeod, of St Albert AB and Mason Boughner, Edmonton AB, Rebecca and Reese Boughner of Chilliwack BC. Also her-great-great granddaughter Savannah Rachel Faye of St Albert, AB She is also survived by many nephews and their families.
A Memorial Service will be held at St John’s Anglican Church, 46098 Higginson Rd, Chilliwack BC on August 23, 1912 at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow at RCL #280 on Vedder Rd.
