Josephine “Jo” was born and raised in Crossfield, AB. She then moved to Calgary where she enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and completed five years active duty for our country. Upon completion, she then returned to Calgary and opened her own cafe, working there until her marriage in 1951.
After raising her six children, she retired in Chilliwack, BC and continued to be very active with her local bowling leagues which went on to win bronze in the Olympics on the Canadian women’s team. She recently returned to her native Alberta residing in Calgary with her family. After a short but courageous battle with cancer, she has returned home to be with her Lord, our Father in Heaven.
We express our sincere thanks to the staff at the Rosedale Hospice for their care and love to Mom.
The little star shines brighter
as an Angel hurries by
Wings welcoming the newest soul
To fly across the sky.
The journey here has ended
Yet a new one has begun
We will see her smile forever
As she dances in the sun
