With broken hearts we announce the passing of John Rooney, beloved husband of Irene, adoring father of Susan, Michelle and Anthony (Tony), and grandfather of Nathan, Shayla, Alexander and Nicholas.
John was born in Rawalpindi, India in 1928. He left Naini Tal, India in 1947. John met Irene in England and married in 1955. Together they immigrated to Canada in 1957 and raised their family in Richmond, B.C. John spent his retirement years in Columbia Valley, B.C. where he enjoyed the peace and tranquility of his home.
Our family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all who have graciously offered their prayers and support through our time of grief.
A Celebration of Life Service for family and friends will be held on Sunday, Sept. 12th 2010 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Cultus Lake Community Hall, 4220 Columbia Valley Highway, Cultus Lake.
