John David Simpson
John David Simpson of Moreno Valley, CA passed away peacefully in his home on May 21, 2017 with his wife Pam of almost 50 years by his side. He was born June 7, 1948 in Montreal, Canada and moved to California with his parents when he was fifteen. He graduated from Redondo Union High School. He worked in the construction field for fifty years including ten years as a Public Works Inspector for the City of Moreno Valley. John enjoyed driving his '62 Chevy Impala and riding his Harley. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He was known for his quick wit and "Grandpa jokes". John is survived by his loving family, daughters, Lisa (Phil), Shawna (Scott), and son Shane. He adored his grandchildren; Jonathan, Kaitlyn (Sean), Brandon, Jared, Lexi and Laci and his great grandchildren Makenzie and Madden. John held a special place in his heart for his niece, Gina and nephews, Robert, Andy and David. John was especially close to his sister, Sheila and nephew Pat. A Memorial Celebration will be held at the Cottonwood Golf Center located at 13671 Frederick St., Moreno Valley CA on Friday, May 26th from 3:00 - 7:00 pm. For friends and family in Canada, there will be a Celebration of Life tentatively scheduled for July 8th at his daughter's home in Rosedale, BC. More information to follow.
