John Robinson, aged 81 years and late of Cultus Lake, passed away on April 9, 2003.
John is survived by five children, Glenda McKinnon of Abbotsford, Jim (Judy) Robinson of Kamloops, Doug (Jasmin) Robinson of Chilliwack, Jeff Robinson of Squamish, and Joy Robinson of Squamish; five grandchildren, Neil, Joanne, Daniel, April, and Sarah; and one great-granddaughter Alexandra. He is also survived by one sister Betty (Derek) King of Summerland.
John was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Janice, in December of 1996; and sister Thelma.
John came to Chilliwack in 1946 and was involved in the Chilliwack Search and Rescue in its early years. He was a longtime active member of the United Church including Chilliwack United, Carman United and Cultus Lake United Churches. He was a longtime farmer in the area, worked in the cannery until retirement and worked part-time for several years as a taxi driver. He was very proud of his family and having raised five children.
Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, Apr. 15, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. from the Chilliwack United Church with Reverend Doug Ireland officiating.
