John Oliver COUGHLIN

John Oliver Coughlin, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin, passed away on January 5, 2006 at MacIntosh Lodge at age 87 years. He was born November 24, 1918. John is survived by his sons, Barry (Sandy) of Chilliwack, Keith (Lynn) of Drayton Valley, AB, Glenn (Jeri) of Rocky Mtn. House, AB and Craig of Ryder Lake; sister Pat Russell of Kamloops and Linda (John) McConnell of Ryder Lake; sister in law, Alice Coughlin; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to list. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Iris Helen; infant sister Ethel; brother, Norman; sister, Olive (Jack) Woodruff; brother in law, Bob Russell and granddaughter Lacey Iris Coughlin.

John was a Ryder Lake resident since the age of 5 years. He worked hard all his life and contributed to many community efforts, some of which stand to this day. He joined the Westminster Regiment as a young man and served during World War II. He was very proud to be a Veteran. He will be remembered fondly by all those whose lives he touched.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at 10:00 am from Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home; Reverend Doug Ireland officiating. Interment at Chilliwack Cemetery, Legion Section. Refreshments will follow at the Ryder Lake Community Hall. If family and friends so desire, donations in John’s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
