John Edward Russell passed away July 30, 2006 in MSA Hospital, Abbotsford. Born in Kelowna BC, April 6, 1921. He spent his boyhood days living on Promontory. Predeceased by wife Nora of 54 years, son Terry, Brothers Robert (Bob) and Walter, one sister Irene Bowman. Jack is survived by two sons Wayne (Pat) of Oliver BC, and Gerald (Maire) of Surrey BC, four grandchildren; Evan, Byron, Stephanie, and Jarrett. Also survived by two sisters Alice Coughlin and Marion Egeley, sister-in-law Pat Russell and many neices and nephews.
Jack served overseas in WWII. He worked in Vancouver for 35 years and returned to Chilliwack in 1981 after his retirement. Jack was an ardent fisherman and previous hunter, spending time at the cottage in Tulameen where he enjoyed his second love, the great outdoors.
There will be no service at Jack’s request. Cremation to be carried out and internment of ashes in Carmen Cemetary.
Jack will be sadly missed by family and friends.
