John Gordon Schindel
John Schindel was tragically taken from us on May 16, 2006 in Barrier, B.C. while on the job at the age of 46 years. He was born on July 13, 1959 in North Vancouver, B.C.
John worked for the Ministry of Transportation for more than 25 years. He started as a surveyor and over the years held many positions including rock scaler and most recently as a geotechnical engineer.
Although his hobbies included taking his daughter to rodeos, horses, farming and his dog JD, the most important part of his life was his family. He loved to golf and spend time outdoors.
John is survived by his loving wife Lisa of 17 years, his daughter Robin, stepson Ryan, father Arthur, sister Judy Mitchell (Dave), brother Doug (Lesley), nieces; Lisa, Shelley, Erica, Sydney, and nephews; Shawn, Jeremy and Mark as well as many family members and friends. John was predeceased by his mother, Betty.
There will be a memorial service at Chilliwack United Church, 45835 Spadina Avenue in Chilliwack, on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 2 pm with Rev. Brian Bueler officiating. In lieu of flowers there is a trust fund set-up for Robin at CIBC Chilliwack Branch.
