John Gerard Reilly passed away peacefully on June 27, 2003 at Chilliwack at the age of 85 years. He was born in County Mayo, Ireland, April 17, 1918.
He served in England from 1939 to 1945. He came to Canada with his wife Irene and son Simon in 1957. He was a stationary engineer for the former Fraser Valley Frosted Food and later at Coqualeetza Hospital and he retired in 1983.
John is lovingly remembered by wife Irene; son Simon (Laura) Reilly of Vancouver; two sisters, Kathleen Keane of Castlebar, County Mayor, Ireland, and Sister Mary Theresa, Sister of St. Joseph, Westport, County Mayo, Ireland; and nieces and nephews.
Prayers were said on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at 7 p.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was held Thursday, July 3, 2003 at 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Father Jack Dias celebrant. Interment of remains will be held at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
