John de Jong quietly passed into the presence of his saviour Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 3, 2008. At the age of 87 years. John will be remembered with love and greatly missed by his devoted wife Tinaand their children.Their marriage of 65 years was commemorated on September 1. John’s six children Arnold (Joanne) de Jong, Hilda Flokstra, Conrad (Devey) de Jong, Wyn (Dan) Vanderhorst, Betty Ann Glazema, Sid de Jong, his thirteen grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his one sibling, Betty Baker of Neerlandia, Alberta.
The family is comforted by Lord’s Day 1 of the Heidelberg Catechism:
What is your only comfort in life and death?
That I am not my own, but belong with body and soul, both in life and death, to my faithful saviour Jesus Christ.
Funeral services arranged by personal alternatives. Viewing to be held at the funeral home 3070 275a street Aldergrove from 3 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, September 7. A celebration of his life will be held at Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Abbotsford at 1 P.M, September 9, 2008. Flowers gratefully declined.
