John BRENNAN

December 30, 2002

John Brennan passed away at home on December 30, 2002 after a long battle with many health problems. He was born in Yorkshire, England September 27, 1927.

John is survived by his wife Sheila; daughters, Maureen (Ken Wiley), and Anne (Robert Wright); son Donald; grandchildren, Daniel and Hayley; and three sisters in England, Mary, Kathleen and Sheila. There are also numerous nieces and nephews left to mourn his passing.

Predeceased by sisters, Ann, Patricia, and Eileen.

John had an interesting life. Starting at the age of 15 he joined the British Merchant Navy and for the last few years of the War travelled the world on oil tankers. 1945 and back in England he joined the Air Force and while posted to Northern Ireland met and later married his wife Sheila. His next job was the fire brigade and in 1956 the family immigrated to Canada. He was soon in uniform again as he joined the Canadian Army for 10 years. Posted to Vancouver and later Chilliwack where he settled. Those were his happiest years. His last jobs were about 10 years in B.C. Corrections, and later running large kitchens at Riverview.

John will be greatly missed by many friends and family.

A private service was held at Columbia Bowell Funeral Chapel in New Westminster. Cremation and burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Burnaby.
