John Blois Rich passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord on October 13, 2002, after a brief stay at the Menno Hospital in Abbotsford. John is mourned by his wife Katherina (nee Dosso) also residing at the Menno Hospital; and her brother and sisters and their families. John was born in Red Deer, Alta., July 15, 1923 where he spent many years farming. Retiring from farming, he first concentrated his efforts in the Red Deer and Sunny Brook Farm Museums, then upon marrying Kay Dosso in 1978, and moving to Chilliwack, he continued his museum interests at the Atchelitz site. A memorial service with Pastor Werner Froese officiating was held at the Eden Mennonite Church, Chilliwack on October 17, 2002.
