Johannus Philippus (John) van den BOSCH

John van den Bosch passed away March 6/06 at Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 82.

After an illness of about one year the Lord took from us our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grand and great-grand father, brother and brother in law.

He was born in Leiden the Netherlands on June 6 1923 and lived in Aalsmeer for 30 years before immigrating to Canada in 1972 with his wife and seven children.

He was a greenhouse operator for his entire life, and was well known in the Chilliwack area for his roses.

He was predeceased by his only brother in 2000 and one infant grand- and one infant great-grandchild.

He is survived by his loving wife Pietertje of 56 years; and his children, Jan (Klazina) van den Bosch, Anneke (Maarten) Kerkhoff, Jaap (Aileen) van den Bosch, Tine (Arie) Pannekoek, Ellen (Jan) van Huigenbos, Peter (Eveline) van den Bosch, Joke (Wim) Klop. He is survived by 45 grandchildren and 22 great grand children, and his only sister Tinie Drost- van den Bosch and sisters in law.

Funeral services were held on March 10, 2006 at the Reformed Congregation of North America, Chilliwack, with Rev. TR Treur officiating.

Honorary Pall bearers: Jan van den Bosch and Jake Anker. Pall bearers Jaap and Peter van den Bosch, Maarten Kerkhoff, Arie Pannekoek, Jan van Huigenbos and Wim Klop

Interment at the Chilliwack Cemetary (Little Mountain). The family would like to especially recognize the care of the staff at NU #3 and #4 at Chwk Gen. Hospital and Dr.’s Causton, Struwig and Goodman.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mt. Cheam Christian School’s library.
