John Byland, born in Holland on January 5, 1931, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy, of 47 years; son, Peter (Heather); grandchildren, Jonathon, Alyssa, April, Brandon; son, Adrian (Shirley), grandchildren, Ashley, Eddy, Amber. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters, Jean (Ryan) and Tiny (Thys) and sister-in-law, Katie. He was predeceased by his brother, Adrian.
John loved his garden and was active in various garden clubs in the lower mainland and Fraser Valley. He was one of the founding members of the Fraser Valley Dahlia Society.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Darin Cherniwchan, home care nurses and Fraser Cheam Home Support Service. Also, a special thanks to the doctors and staff of the B.C. Cancer Agency of Vancouver.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Yarrow United Mennonite Church. Interment at Oceanview Cemetery.
