Johanna Cornelia Viets (nee Van den Brink) passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at Ebenezer Seniors home in Abbotsford, BC. She was born May 12, 1914 in Barneveld, The Netherlands. In 1920 she immigrated to Iowa, USA; moved to California in 1927; moved back to The Netherlands in 1932; moved back to California in 1947; moved to Chilliwack, BC in 1965 and finally moved to Ebenezer Home, Abbotsford in March 2002.
She was predeceased by her mother, father, brother, 2 sisters and her husband, Willem. She is survived by her son, John (Leny, nee Romeyn); her granddaughters, Trudy (Pete) Slootweg and Jolene (Bill) Vermeer and 3 great-grandchildren, Deandra, Tyrone and Drake. Funeral Service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2005 at Bethel NRC on Broadway, Chilliwack, B.C. Rev. Pieter Van Ruitenburg officiating. Interment to follow at Chilliwack Cemetery. Opportunity for condolences will be on Thursday, December 29th, 2005 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Timothy Christian School.
