(nee Humphrey)

(July 9, 1932 - March 26, 2009)

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Jocelyn Gail Mills.  She passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of March 26, 2009, with loving family members at her side.

Jocelyn was predeceased by her parents, Don and Isabel Humphrey.

Survived by her devoted husband of almost 52 years, Peter, and her three children: Richard (Carol), Cathy (Edmund), Barbara (Michael); her six grandchildren: Steven, Emma, David, Nathan, Daniel, Sierra; and her sister, Louise (Cliff).

From her early years growing up in West Vancouver, Jocelyn was gifted with numerous creative talents.  She had been a classically trained singer and was gifted with a beautiful singing voice.

Jocelyn loved animals, particularly dogs and horses which she would frequently capture through her imaginative sketches.  She also enjoyed being close to nature, and in the early years of raising a family, enjoyed many summer vacations with her family at her parent’s home on the shores of Shuswap Lake.

Following her husband Peter’s retirement in the mid 90’s, the couple moved to their lovely cottage on the Chilliwack River, where Pete still resides.  Jocelyn enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and the unique community of close and caring friends immensely.

Jocelyn will be remembered as a loving, caring wife, mother, and grandmother who possessed a marvelous sense of humor along with a joyful and tenacious spirit.  She was greatly loved by many, and will be greatly missed.  We will never forget you Jocelyn.

A private service was held by Jocelyn’s immediate family at their home in Chilliwack, BC.  The family wishes to thank the staff of the Bradley Centre for their support and compassionate care of our dear Jocelyn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
