(nee Harman)

(June 18, 1929 - June 21, 2009)

After a long courageous battle with cancer, Joan passed peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.

All those whose lives she touched believed that Joan was the best of the best. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She was a generous hostess, wonderful cook and homemaker, and very talented in sewing arts and crafts.

A life-long resident of the Lower Mainland, Joan is predeceased by brothers: William and Jack Harman; and survived by William, loving husband of 58 years; children: Beverly, and John (Lynda); grandchildren: Kimberly (Clint), and Christopher (Deshonna); six great-grandchildren; brother, James; sister, Diana (Howard); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Heather Leyen of Chilliwack; the medical staff of Abbotsford Regional Hospital; and, the many home care nurses who attended Joan.

A celebration of Joan’s life will be held at the Ramada Plaza and Conference Centre located at 36035 North Parallel Road, Abbotsford, on June 29, 2009 at 2:00.

In lieu of flowers kindly make donations in Joan’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
