It is with profound sadness that my wife, and mother of our children, Jessie Roy passed away peacefully December 8, 2009 at the age of 76 years. Jessie was born in Toronto, Ontario, May 23, 1933. Left to celebrate her life is her beloved husband Ronald, their four children, Deb Sutton, Christopher, Ellen and Cheryl Roy; her grandchildren, Willie Joseph Sutton, Cassandra, Jacinth, Serenah and Joshua Roy, Bradley Butcher and Brandon Heavens. She will also be greatly missed by her great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Nicole Sutton as well as Jared and Jaden Taylor and Mackenzie Colbert.
Jessie grew up in Toronto, Ontario, and was the youngest of four children including her sister Ella Stone and was predeceased by her two brothers, Jim and George Noble. She was an avid traveler and until illness sidelined her, she enjoyed a good game of golf. During her life, she enjoyed the great outdoors and camping, had been active with the Lions Club, and up until her death was actively involved with the Chilliwack Alliance Church.
Funeral services will be held at the Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home located at 45865 Hocking Ave. in Chilliwack Thursday, Dec. 17th at 1:30 pm with a reception to follow.
Jessie will be laid to rest at the Vedder View Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society will be gladly accepted at the service.
