Jenny POLLITT

The family and friends of Jenny Pollitt are sad to announce her passing on May 22, 2007.

Jenny was born April 16, 1918 in Rishton, England, the third of four sisters.

She became a Registered Nurse in 1940 and worked in London hospitals during the war. She married Alfred in 1943 and later operated her own Nursing Home near Manchester. Seeing greater opportunities in Canada, Jenny and Alfred decided to emigrate and arrived with their three boys in 1955, initially settling in Edson, Alberta.

After living, working and raising the boys in various places throughout Alberta, Jenny and Alfred retired to Harrison Hot Springs in 1977. They relocated to Chilliwack in the early 1990s.

Jenny is survived by sons David (Rose) of St. Albert, AB, and Ross (Lorraine) of Calgary, AB, daughter-in-law Sharyn of Keremeos, BC, grandchildren Randy and Ashley of Calgary, AB, and sister Nellie of England. Jenny loved to play bingo and leaves behind many ‘bingo’ friends. Also left to mourn her are many other dear relatives and friends.

Predeceased by husband Alfred in 1993, eldest son Michael in 1997, sisters Kitty in 1982 and Nancy in 2005.

The family would like to thank the health care providers, the staff at Nelmes Pharmacy and especially Dr. Lori Laughland for their care and compassion. Also, special thanks to Lynn, Richard, and Wendy who gave so generously of their time to look after Jenny.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 16th, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack, BC.
