(Jenny) Genevieve Hooper

Dec. 31, 1945-June 9, 2006

With sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and Friend on June 9, 2006 at Chilliwack Memorial Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband David E. Hooper and is survived by her daughters Michelle and Geneen Lazar, her son Dennis Lazar, her grandchildren Julian and Austin Ensz and many extended family members and friends. Born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, Genevieve was a true “Downhomer”. She will be remembered for her feisty nature and great love of life. She possessed a most memorable sense of humour and has forever instilled many happy memories in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Genevieve loved her family and friends dearly and never missed any opportunity where she was able to sing or dance. Special Thanks to Dr. Bartel and Dr. Dueck and the outstanding Staff at Chilliwack General Hospital for their compassion and care. In memory of our hero, Genevieve, donations if desired may be made to the Canadian Cancer Foundation.

“Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on the ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry: I am not there. I did not die.”
