Jean was born May 13, 1910 in Edmonton, Alberta. She passed away peacefully at Eden Care Home, at the age of 95 on April 24, 2006.
Predeceased by husband, Robert Morton Carruthers on May 4, 1975. Jean was the 2nd eldest of 9 children and is survived by sisters, Mali Carson and Lillian Hutchison. She will be sadly missed by her children, Don Carruthers, Bruce (Debbie) Carruthers, Jean Olsen, Gerald (Judy) Carruthers and Karen (Don) Corbett. 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Plus many neices and nephews.
Her family was her life. There were many happy times camping at Cultus Lake and fishing at Emory Creek. She graciously hosted many family gatherings. She was a life long learner and had a great appreciation for nature and her garden. Her joy was to experience another “first”.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, May 12th @ 2p.m. at the Chilliwack United Church.
