Jason OUELLET

March 8, 2006

Jason left this world in a plane on March 8th, 2006 while flying from Vancouver, into Powell River, British Columbia.

He leaves behind to mourn, his soul mate and companion of 10 years, Sarah Hicks; his mother, Rita Meeker; his father Greg (Pat) Ouellet; brother Brent (Laura) Hamm; sister Tracie (Brad) Lawrence and niece and nephew Carlie and Matthew. Jason was very close to his family and also leaves behind his grandparents Mary and Don Lugsdin, and Irving Goundry as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jason was pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents, Melvin Gunderson and Phyllis Gunderson-Goundry and his paternal grandfather, Andre Ouellet.

As well as his family, Jason deeply treasured his countless friends, both from Chilliwack as well as those in the flying community. They will miss his smile, sense of humour and friendship terribly.

Jason’s zest for life, sense of adventure and love of the outdoors drove him to pursue a career in aviation. He was passionate about flying and he left this world at the age of 27 doing what he loved. He truly valued his relationships with his family and friends. Jason made a lasting impact on every life he touched. We will miss him deeply and his spirit will remain in our hearts forever.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 16th at St. Paul’s Church, 8871 School Street, Chilliwack.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the service, towards a one-time Memorial Bursary to fund Flight Training for a deserving future pilot.
