Janneke (Joan) de GLOPPER

Joan de Glopper passed away peacefully on June 29, 2003 at the age of 72.

She is survived by her three children, son John and his wife Charlene; daughters, Janneke and husband Denis Cherniwchan, and Jackie and husband Danny MacKay. She also had four grandchildren; and eight great-grand-

children. Also survived by two brothers, Joe (Ria) Van de Hoek, and Frank (Lynne) Moria and nieces and nephews.

Joan was born in Den Helder, Holland in 1930 and married and moved to B.C. in 1950. After moving around a few mining towns in B.C., settled in Yale in 1962 until 1970 then moved to Harrison Hot Springs, then Chilliwack in 1980. While in Harrison she worked at the Harrison Hotel as chambermaid for nine years. She also volunteered on Thursdays at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen since 1984 until two years ago, and helped others that needed assistance with day to day chores.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army Church on Brooks Ave.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army Church would be appreciated.
