On November 14, 2012, Jane Elgersma passed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ surrounded by her family.
Mom was born on February 11, 1928 in Holland. Jane is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Steffen Elgersma; their children Elisabeth (Gerrit) Apperloo and their two children; Metske (Janna) Elgersma and their ten children; Annetta (Ed) Ooms and their two children; Daniel (Sheri) Elgersma and their four children; and forty-two great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her special niece, Elizabeth Hoekstra-VanderVlis; brother Andries (Hiltje) Hoekstra of The Netherlands; sister, Tina Postma of The Netherlands, and Nancy (Bill) Kelder of Hope, BC; and numerous extended family and friends.
Jane is predeceased by her son, Andy Elgersma; brothers: Hielke Hoekstra, Sietse Hoekstra and Dubbelt Hoekstra.
A private graveside service was held on Monday, November 19, 2012 in Chilliwack and officiated by Pastor Peter Laurie, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at First Avenue Christian Assembly officiated by Pastor Michell Belobaba and Pastor Elmer Martin.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Cascade Lodge for their kindness and support that Mom received over the past years. A very special thank you to Veronica Heal for her love and support to both Mom and Dad.
