James “Scotty” MALLON

James was born in Port Glasgow, Scotland. Son of the late James and Annie Mallon of Scotland. He was predeceased by his brothers; David, Hugh, Patrick, John and Barholomew and his sisters; Nan, and Mammie.

James is survived by his sisters Margaret Crossan and Vera Deary, and many nieces and nephews all of Scotland.

His “adopted” Canadian family being Lillian Wood, Randy & Ann Jonsson & Brenda Creasey and families.

Before immigrating to Canada at the age of 27 James was a plumber at the Shipyards.

In Toronto he worked at the Air Craft Factory before joining the Canadian Armed Forces where he served 21 years. Retiring in Chilliwack where he has resided for around 25 years.

Besides his love of music and playing his various instruments, James enjoyed Ballroom Dancing and his world travels.

James was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 34 years, the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, the Chilliwack Golf Club, Mom & Dad’s Dance Club, and the BC Cancer Society.

Prayer Services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at 6:00 PM from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Chilliwack, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 3, 2003.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association or the Cancer Association.
