CURTIS, James Oliver

August 3, 1934 - April 21, 2017


Jim passed away Friday April 21st in the loving arms of his wife Brenda. He had been battling for many years with dementia. Jim leaves to mourn his loss, his wife Brenda, son William (wife Sarah), two grandchildren Isabelle and Spencer, his sister Faye, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Christina and James A. Curtis, his daughter Sandra, two sisters Pat and Florence, nephew Allan and sister-in-law Charley.

Jim was born in Edmonton, Alberta. At an early age, Jim started working first on the farm in Highland Park and then in Hines Creek in northern Alberta. As a teenager Jim went to work on oil rigs outside of Lethbridge. He went on to get his heavy duty mechanics license and worked in that field for many years. He became a long haul truck driver for several years and then finally a home renovation contractor. Jim repaired and renovated many homes in Chilliwack. In retirement, Jim discovered his love of gardening. No service will be held at this time.
