Jean(ie) beloved and kind mother and grandmother passed away on February 3, 2004 in

Abbotsford, B.C.

Mom was born in 1932 in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. She was the second youngest of a family of 12 sisters and two brothers.

She immigrated to Canada in 1955 to face new challenges and adventures, but always yearned for her homeland and the comfort of family left behind.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary-Jon Vanderstarren (Rob); her son Robert Volleman (Diane); granddaughters: Lisa-Marie, Kristy, ,Emily and Erica; her sisters: Geppy Baay of Australia, and Henny Oosterhuis of New Zealand.

My mom’s gift and legacy was

her laughter. She enjoyed to laugh, big belly laughs and could bring joy to a room with the twinkle in her eye, the beginnings of a smile and the anticipation of her laugh.

I will miss our days together doing nothing in particular, but meaning everything and more. I love you mom. “Dag and tot ziens.”

Sincere gratefulness to Valerie Leoppky, Linda Closs, Toos Vanderhoek, and Betty Salloway for their support and valued friendship..

Dr. T Yakubovich for her compassion and gentle bedside manner, Dr. Min and Dr. Mah for the efforts and ability, caring staff of MSA Hospital.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd.

“Peace I leave you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let our hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
