Jacob Unrau passed away on May 23, 2004 suddenly at home in Chilliwack, BC at age 73 years. He was born June 28, 1930 in Speers Sask.
Jacob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vivian; children, Sandi Howeling (Len), Don Unrau (Anita), Karyn Ruettnauer, and Darlene Pluhowy; grandchildren, Michelle (Jason), Sarah (Paul), Peter, Drew, Chantelle, Kyle, Kaleena, Landon, Kirsten, Alexis, Jason, Adam, Rachel, Allen, and Aaron; great grand-daughter, Portia; brothers, John, George, Pete, Hank, and David; sisters, Anne and Kay; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by parents John and Sarah Unrau.
Jacob’s early working years were spent in logging. He then worked as a custodian with School District #33 for 22 years. He had a strong faith in God and his church played a great part in his life. “Papa’s” caring spirit and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2004 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home. Burial will take place Friday, May 28, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Chilliwack Cemeteries.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 28, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. from Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack BC; Rev. Jim Gaetz and Rev. Dave Huebert officiating.
Pallbearers are Hank Unrau, Dave Unrau, Don Unrau, Erwin Huebert, Peter Houweling, and Jason Pluhowy.
Honorary Pallbearers are George Unrau, Len Houweling, Kyle Unrau, and Drew Houweling.
